Real Madrid Preview – Can Real put poor recent run of form behind them and go back top of La Liga?
Barcelona Preview – Are Barca set to turn on the style and pull clear of their rivals in the title race?
The change in head coach from Ernesto Valverde to Quique Setien at the beginning of this year was a surprise for some and long overdue for others. Regardless of the merits of the decision it’s one which has seen a change in style from the champions to a more possession-based game. There have been some disappointments already but supporters will point to the fact they are back top and also in with a good chance of making the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Barca’s 1-1 draw in Naples in midweek makes them big favourites to progress from that tie but whilst they were better in the second half, performances will have to be better if they are to be considered challengers for that competition.

It’s now four league wins in a row for Barca. They’ve only won more games consecutively (five between September and October) on one occasion this season. All but one of those games has been by a margin of one goal so they’re not blowing teams away.
Barcelona’s injury problems continue to escalate with Gerard Pique the latest player to be sidelined. He joins the likes of Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Roberto.
