As mentioned earlier, Sunday’s visitors, Osasuna, currently occupy a mid-table position of 11th place on the La Liga ladder and are neither in the frame for a possible top six finish, nor likely to be dragged down to the relegation battle below them, so they appear to have little to play for here.
Results have been inconsistent throughout the season for Osasuna and this is indicated by their recent returns having registered wins against Athletic Bilbao and Espanyol, they’ve also fallen to defeats against Real Madrid, Granada and Sevilla, while an away record of 3-5-5 14/18 includes winning just one of their previous five matches on their travels.
The bigger picture shows an even gloomier prospect for Osasuna as the visitors have picked up just three wins out of their last 17 matches on the road in La Liga, so they look like they’ll have their work cut out in this clash.
