Rennes will still be riding the crest of a wave following their resounding 3-1 home win over Arsenal in the first leg of their round of 16 tie against the London club in the Europa League, and although this game follows on in quick fashion from midweek, the players will be on a high and will want to keep their momentum going here.

Caen sit in the relegation zone ahead of their trip to Rennes having now gone nine matches without a win in Ligue 1 which has left them a significant seven points adrift of fourth from bottom club Monaco and safety ahead of this Sunday’s action in the French top flight.
Six defeats within this nine-match sequence certainly hasn’t helped Caen’s cause as they desperately seek a way to break out of this dismal run of results, having suffered defeats to Lille, Marseille, Montpellier, Amiens, Nantes and PSG.
A poor away record of 1-6-6 10/18 has also contributed to their current poor league position, and although they recorded a 2-0 win away at Dijon earlier in the season, the visitors have since slumped to 10 away matches without a win on the road.
