A four match run without a win for Monaco have seen the visitors drop back down near the relegation mire as they now sit just one league position above the relegation play-off spot, currently occupied by third from bottom club, Caen.
The one thing in Monaco’s favour though is that they hold a valuable three point cushion over Caen ahead of their trip to Rennes on Wednesday night, despite picking up just 2 points from the last possible 12 on offer following defeats to Caen and PSG along with draws against Guingamp and Reims.
Results away from home have been reasonable though for Monaco who have suffered just two defeats out of their last seven matches on their travels which were at Dijon and PSG in 2-0 and 3-1 defeats respectively, but a 1-0 win at 2nd placed Lille recently should also give Monaco reason to be confident of getting something out of this clash.
