Rennes Preview – Can Rennes bounce back?
Friday night’s hosts, Rennes, were handed a heavy 3-0 defeat away from home at PSG just before the international break but the hosts will be hoping that they can return to winning ways on Friday when they entertain 12th placed Bordeaux at their Roazhon Park.
Rennes have tasted defeat in two of their last three matches overall in Ligue 1 having previously lost 2-1 at home to Angers and the hosts will be desperate not to let their good start to this new Ligue 1 season go to waste after winning four of their first five matches.
Despite that loss to Angers, Rennes have been pretty impressive at home for quite some time now as the hosts have lost just twice out of their last 15 matches in the French top flight and this includes 11 wins, one of which was a 1-0 win over tonight’s opponents, Bordeaux.

Bordeaux headed into the international break on the back of two defeats on the trot and indeed three losses from their last four matches overall in Ligue 1 following a 2-0 defeat at home to Montpellier, and they face a tough assignment at Rennes on Friday night.
This upcoming trip is made even harder as the visitors have lost three of their last four matches having suffered previous defeats against Marseille 3-1 and a 4-0 thrashing at Monaco, both of which were away from their Stade Matmut-Atlantique.
In addition to having managed to collect just one win out of their last six matches away from home, Bordeaux have also lost their last three away matches on the trot and although their hosts also tasted defeat before the break, Rennes look the more likely here to bounce back with a win.
