Ranieri now has to rally his troops following these recent back-to-back losses, but the hosts have home advantage at Stadio Olimpico where they’re unbeaten in their last seven matches on home soil, winning five of these matches.

Empoli continue to hover dangerously just above the relegation zone as they sit one league position and just one point above the bottom three as they face an extremely tough trip to face Roma who will be further boosted by the return of their successful former manager, Claudio Ranieri.
Empoli have managed just one win from their last 11 matches overall in Serie A which was a 3-0 home win over Sassuolo, but seven defeats within this 11-match sequence has meant that the visitors still remain firmly entrenched in the relegation battle at the bottom of the table.
The visitors possess a poor away record of 0-4-8 11/28 and this includes losing four of their last five matches on their travels with losses incurred at Fiorentina, Torino, Lazio and AC Milan, with a 2-2 draw at Cagliari saving their blushes.
