It’s set to be a crucial night in Group F as the top four all play each other. Romania will be hoping to move into second spot ahead of the final two games whilst Norway are virtually in the last chance saloon in terms of qualifying.

Romania Preview – Can Romania make it three wins in a row and keep the pressure on Sweden in the race for second?

With three games to go and being only a point behind Sweden in the second automatic qualification spot, you would put Romania in with a great chance of achieving their aim and reaching Euro 2020. Especially as they have won their last two games without conceding a goal. The problem for Romania is they face a really difficult closing three games starting with Tuesday night’s game with Norway. Next month will see them welcome Sweden before traveling to complete their campaign away to a formidable Spanish team who will almost certainly top this group. There’s no doubting they have a chance, particularly as they have two home games, but they could barely have picked a more difficult end to thei campaign.

The performance of Romania in this group so far will give them some hope they can get the results they need but improvement will be needed. Whilst they have not won any of their first three meetings against the other top teams in this section, they have been competitive in all of them. A pair of 2-1 defeats against Spain and Sweden and a draw in Norway mean they have taken one point from a possible nine. They will need a much better return from their next three games to advance.

Norway Preview – Will Norway build on their good result against Spain and keep their qualification hopes alive?

Of the nations hoping to make it out this section and reach Euro2020, Norway have the slimmest chance of doing so. Lars Lagerback’s team are in fourth coming into this game and four points adrift of second place Sweden – his native country. Despite losing only one game of their seven so far, they have amassed just 10 points. Draws have been the source of their frustration and even if they had been able to turn one of their four into a victory they would be in a much strong position. Norway have taken the lead in three of their four draws including a couple of 2-0 leads at home to Sweden and Romania earlier in the campaign. It’s been their inability to hold on to those leads which could see their qualification hopes suffer.

What is in Norway’s favour is the games they have let to play in this section. Whilst their opponents have to face the current top two, the Norwegians face the Faroe Islands and Malta next month, which will be two games they should be expecting to win with a minimum of fuss. If Lagerback’s men can take a massive three points here they would then be much more confident of their chances.

Key-Facts – Romania v Norway

  • Romania could end this international break in second should they win and Sweden fail to beat Spain on the same evening
  • Norway have work to do if they are to qualify but they have lost only once in this section and have a favourable run-in
  • The teams drew 2-2 when they met in Oslo back in June – a game where Norway had a two goal lead

Romania v Norway Betting Advice

If we assume Spain see this campaign out as they have started it and go on to top it then there are three nations vying for one spot. Sweden are in current pole position but they still have to travel to Romania after hosting Spain tomorrow. Should the Spanish take any points from that match then Romania know they can go second with all three points here. Norway will be hoping they themselves can get the win and the three points which would take them above Romania and into third spot.
There have been so many exciting matches in this section up until now we can only hope this is another. Both teams have scored in all meetings of the top four in Group F with a total of 20 goals. Both teams to score look another solid selection on this occasion considering the two nations need all three points.
