Ross County Preview – Staggies to struggle against the champions?

Ross County, who finished tenth out of 12 last term, have made a decent enough to start to their 2020-21 campaign. The Staggies have won two, drawn two and lost two of six thus far.

Stuart Kettlewell’s County started the season with back-to-back wins over Motherwell and Hamilton Academical, with both games ending 1-0. Since then, though, Ross County have picked up just two points from 12 on offer, drawing with Kilmarnock and St Mirren and losing to Dundee United and Livingston.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score – No

Before the first international break of the season, Kettlewell’s boys were beaten by the Livi Lions at the Tony Macaroni Arena. After Carl Tremarco was sent off for two yellows, Jon Guthrie’s 64th-minute goal won it for Livingston. Can County dust themselves down and shock the champions this weekend?

Celtic Preview – Easy three points for Lennon’s Bhoys?

Celtic have already had a season of mixed emotions, as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the earliest stage since 2005, losing to Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros at Celtic Park. However, they have dropped just two points in the Premiership.

Celtic started with a romping 5-1 win over Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park in early August. The Hoops then drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock before securing back-to-back league victories. After the disappointing loss in Europe, the Bhoys beat Motherwell 3-0 at home before the break, with James Forrest, Albian Ajeti and Christopher Jullien scoring in Glasgow.

Celtic are gunning for a tenth Scottish title in a row this season. However, with Rangers firing on all cylinders at the start of this campaign – winning five of six, and keeping six clean sheets – the tussle for the title could go to the wire this time. Still, the Celts will be eyeing up all three points from this one.

Ross County vs Celtic Betting Advice

Since being held to a frustrating draw at Rugby Park on matchday two, Celtic have hit back with wins over Dundee United and Motherwell, keeping clean sheets in both.

Key Facts – Ross County vs Celtic Betting Tip

  • Celtic have won each of the previous six meetings between the two
  • The Hoops have won two on the spin in the Premiership
  • Ross County are without a win in four, drawing two and losing two

These two teams met three times in the Premiership last term, with Celtic dominating all three meetings. The Hoops won 6-0 and 3-0 on their own patch and picked up a comfortable 4-1 victory at Victoria Park.

Celtic will be targeting another easy win over the Dingwall club this weekend. There is good value in 6/5 for the away team to win both halves of this one.

Odsonne Edouard has made a good start to his season, scoring four in four so far. Back the Frenchman to notch two or more goals in this one at 2/1.
