Ross County Preview – Can Ross County make a better fist of things?
Ross County headed into the Scottish Premiership lockdown on the back of two defeats on the trot to Monday’s opponents, Motherwell, (4-1 away) and a 1-0 loss at home to Rangers to end their resulting curtailed campaign third from bottom in the Scottish top flight.
The hosts will therefore be keen to produce a better showing in this new Premiership season although they face a tough opening fixture against former tormentors, Motherwell, despite holding home advantage at their Global Energy Stadium.

Motherwell may well have been miffed at the early conclusion of last season’s Scottish Premiership season as the visitors were sitting in 3rd place and a point ahead of Aberdeen in the race for one of the Europa League qualifying spots before the season was curtailed.
Similar to Ross county though, ‘Well had managed to collect just one win from their last eight matches of the season prior to the lockdown which was the 4-1 thrashing of Ross County, so it’s debatable whether Motherwell would have been able to turn things around and claim a top three finish in the end.
Results away from home had been encouraging though for the visitors as they’d suffered just two defeats from their last eight matches on the road and included wins at St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Ross County (2-1) and Aberdeen, so they’ll be confident that they can pick up something from this encounter on Monday night.
