Malky Mackay would have been bitterly disappointed on Wednesday with his team not taking any points from their visit to Dundee United. Rangers were made to wait for the winning goal against Livingston in midweek but it eventually came courtesy of Scott Arfield who ensured they remain four points clear of Celtic heading into the weekend. Having dropped points away to Aberdeen on their return to action the week prior it was crucial they were able to avoid doing so in consecutive matches.
They had been without several key players for Wednesday’s game for a variety of reasons but will be able to welcome back Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent for this one with recent loan signing Amad Diallo also coming into the squad. Alfredo Morelos remains on international duty with Colombia.

It is still just the one defeat for Rangers this season, that coming away to Dundee United back in August. They have been held to draws on four occasions but with the Glasgow derby to come on Wednesday will be desperate to ensure they maintain at least the current lead at the top of the table.
Cedric Itten started his first game for Rangers in a long time on Wednesday but it could be that Kemar Roofe comes back into contention to start up front having came off the bench in that game.
