After an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first leg, this League One play-off semi-final second leg is evenly poised with Rotherham United taking on Scunthorpe United at the New York Stadium with a place at Wembley up for grabs for both teams.
This evening’s hosts, Rotherham, look to perhaps hold a slight edge as they now have home advantage behind them where they finished the regular season with a good home record of 15-3-5 45/23 along with having recorded three wins on the trot on home turf prior to tonight’s clash with wins over Fleetwood Town, Bristol Rovers and Blackpool.

Visitors Scunthorpe United refused to lay down in the first leg at Glanford Park as they fought back twice to level the scores in an entertaining first leg and they come into this second leg still in the tie with scores level at 2-2.
However, an injury to their regular and most experienced goalkeeper, Michael Gilks with a twisted knee in the first leg will have The Iron sweating on his fitness ahead of this clash. As it stands, Gilks is in line to start the match, and the visitors come into this crucial second leg on the back of a nine-match run without defeat in League One.
Scunthorpe are also unbeaten in their last eight on the road too, so they’ll fancy their chances of nicking a result here I fancy with the likes of midfielders Morris (11 goals) and the energetic Adelakun, along with forwards Toney (8 goals) and Hopper (7 goals) up front.
13 of Scunthorpe’s 23 away matches have resulted in under 2.5 goals, and with this tie still hanging in the balance, I don’t think we’ll see such a gung-ho approach from these teams as we saw in the first leg.
