An 11-match unbeaten sequence helped The Railwaymen claim 2nd place behind title-winners, Zenit, but in truth they found themselves a long way off from matching Zenit as they finished some 15 points adrift of them; however, back-to-back wins at the end of the season against CSKA Moscow and Ural will give the visitors a boost for this opening clash.
