Strasbourg dropped down to 9th place in Ligue 1 following their 2-1 defeat at home to Angers on the weekend which also put an end to a promising run of four straight wins in the French top flight; wins against Nice, Toulouse, Monaco and Bordeaux had put them in with a shout of a possible European spot, but they still have a chance to rectify Saturday’s defeat here.
Away from home, Strasbourg have won three of their last four on their travels as they’ve improved their away record to a more respectable looking 4-4-3 20/14, as the visitors are enjoying their best season for some time.
The visitors are now starting to come good particularly away from home where they started the season in poor fashion, collecting just one win from their first seven matches on the road, which was a 2-0 win at Bordeaux, but Thierry Laurey’s side are starting to fear no-one in Ligue 1.
