Salzburg Preview – Can Salzburg make it six on the trot?

Following their 2-1 defeat at home to Wednesday night’s opponents, Salzburg, in last week’s 1st leg of this play-off tie, it looks as though the Israeli outfit’s dream of reaching the lucrative group stage of this competition could be coming to an end.
Maccabi Tel Aviv have reached the play-offs thanks to gathering wins in the qualifying rounds against Riga, Suduva and Dinamo Brest but the pedigree and quality of their opponents in this play-off tie are far greater than Maccabi’s previous opposition and they could struggle in Austria on Wednesday night.
In addition, the visitors have managed to collect just one win from their last six away ties at this level and have also failed to hit the back of the net on four occasions as well, so it looks like they’ll have their work cut out in this 2nd leg.
