Schalke Prediction

Schalke find themselves in the lower half of the Bundesliga having registered just four league wins to date this term, but three of these victories have been recorded at their VELTINS-Arena with previous wins over Mainz 05, Hannover and Nurnberg – the latter being a 5-2 thrashing.

Overall though, Schalke have produced mixed results in recent times as they’ve registered just one win from their last five matches which was the Nurnberg result, but defeats to Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund along with draws against Hoffenheim and Augsburg have ensured they remain in the bottom half of the division thus far.

A home record of 3-0-4 10/11 is too inconsistent for Dominico Tedesco’s liking I fancy and he’ll be desperate for his side to tighten up in order to reduce the number of losses on home turf. Midfielder Bentaleb (3 goals) is Schalke’s leading goalscorer to date.

Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

Bayer Leverkusen have also seen some mixed results in recent weeks as the visitors have suffered defeats away at RB Leipzig and Sunday’s defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt, but in between times have registered wins against Stuttgart and Augsburg along with a draw against Nurnberg.

The visitors currently occupy 11th place and hold a three point lead over their hosts, Schalke, ahead of this Wednesday night encounter, but having lost two of their last three away from home amidst an overall away record of 2-2-4 11/14, they too will be wanting to steady the ship here.

Leverkusen have also managed just one win from their last five on their travels which was a resounding 6-2 win at Werder Bremen, but have also lost twice and drawn twice (the stalemates being at Freiburg and Nurnberg) in 0-0 and 1-1 draws.

Midfielders Havertz and Bellarabi (4 goals apiece) and forward Volland (5 goals) look the best bets for the away side.

Betting Tips Verdict

With both teams struggling for form in recent weeks, I’ll back the value draw for this one.
