Seongnam go into this round of fixtures as one of just two unbeaten teams in the league and will fancy their chances of another shut-out against Daegu, who are still seeking a first victory of the campaign.

Seongnam Ilhwa Preview – No reason to desert much-improved Seongnam

Seongnam only finished ninth in the K League last season so can take a great deal of heart from their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Three of their four matches to date have been away from the open spaces of the Tancheon Sports Complex but it is possible a lack of spectators has helped Kim Nan-Il’s team.
They’ve only score four goals so far, two of them from veteran Yang Dong-Hyen, but their defence has only been breached once and it is that new-found resilience which is mostly responsible for their elevated league position.
Of course, it is going to get more difficult from now on as sides learn to take them more seriously but the squad and manager are remaining level-headed and bookmakers do seem to have overpriced a home win (a general 19/10), basing their assumption on recent history rather than current form.

Daegu FC Preview – First victory looking as far away as ever

Daegu have been defensively solid under Lee Byung-Geun but the manager must be worried by a continuing lack of attacking threat.
His team have managed just two goals and three points so far this year and you would imagine that they would not have been looking forward to the long trip up to Seongnam.
Too many draws cost them dear last season and they may need to rethink their defensive set-up if they are to work their way up the table before the early leaders are out of sight.
Daegu have not got on the score-sheet in either away game so far. They can probably be excused a 2-0 defeat at Jeonbok but failing to score against Incheon United was an embarrassment considering they domination possession. They are only a best 13/8 with Betvictor to record a first victory at Seongnam and those odds are way too short as they have only won one of their last nine in the K League including last season, though five of those matches ended in draws.
