Sevilla have had to endure a frustrating and rather disappointing sequence of results lately and this continued in the Europa League during the week when they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Slavia Prague in the first leg of the round of 16 in the competition, but the hosts have a chance to kick-start their season here today.
The hosts have registered just one win from their last five matches in all competitions which was a solid 2-0 home win against Lazio in the Europa League, but recent defeats to Villarreal, Barcelona and Huesca have threatened their hold on 6th place and the Europa League spot that accompanies it in recent times.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom for the hosts as they’ve suffered just one defeat out of their last 10 matches at their Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán which was a 4-2 loss to La Liga leaders, Barcelona, but an overall home record of 7-3-2 22/12 will give them belief that they can bounce back with a win here today.
Midfielder Sarabia (8 goals) along with forward pair Ben Yedder (12 goals) and Silva (9 goals) are the main goal threats for Sevilla.

Real Sociedad currently occupy 9th place in La Liga but dropped down the pecking order recently when they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid last weekend, which ended a run of eight matches without defeat for the visitors.
Real Sociedad had previously recorded wins against Real Madrid, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao and Leganes which had propelled them within touching distance of the top six places in La Liga, but it’s worth noting that three of these four wins were recorded at their Estadio Municipal de Anoeta.
Meanwhile, away from home, Real Sociedad are unbeaten in their last four matches on the road with the win at Real Madrid which has been followed by three draws on the trot with stalemates against Rayo Vallecano, Valencia and Girona amidst an overall record of 5-4-4 16/13.
The one thing that is perhaps holding Real Sociedad back though is a lack of cutting edge up front, and this is where Sevilla may just hold the edge over the visitors here.
