Sheffield United recorded another victory in the Championship on Saturday when they beat Yorkshire rivals, Rotherham United 2-0 at Bramall Lane which made it four wins from their last five matches in the second tier and kept the pressure up on second placed Leeds United into the bargain too.
Sheffield United head into Tuesday night’s encounter with Brentford on the back of an eight-match run without defeat in the second tier which includes wins against Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough, Reading, West Brom and Rotherham United.
Four of these last five wins have been recorded on home turf where they possess an overall solid record of 12-3-3 33/13 and they’ve won their last seven home matches on the trot, amassing a total of 16 goals and conceding just 1 in the process which is an impressive sequence of results.
In addition, The Blades have kept nine clean sheets to date so far this season at Bramall Lane which has become a fortress for the hosts.

Visitors Brentford moved up to 13th place in the Championship courtesy of a 2-1 win away at Middlesbrough on Saturday which confounded the form book somewhat as Brentford had only managed one away win all season prior to their visit to the Riverside Stadium, where Middlesbrough had lost on just three occasions beforehand.
Nevertheless, Brentford walked away with all three points and that win over Boro became The Bees’ fourth league win in five matches as they’d previously racked up wins against Aston Villa, Hull City and QPR – all of which were recorded at their Griffin Park ground.
The visitors are likely therefore to be in confident mood of causing another upset at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night, but an away record of 2-7-8 20/28 still remains a fairly average one, and they’ll be up against one of the best teams at home in the division in this clash.
The fact that The Bees have also kept just one clean sheet on their travels to date is still something that needs to be factored into this pick, but the visitors do need to be respected following their recent win at Middlesbrough.
