Sheffield United will be looking to reclaim top spot in the Championship on Saturday afternoon when they take on a beleaguered Hull City outfit at Bramall Lane, following defeat for the home side during the week.
Following an encouraging three-match winning streak with wins over Ipswich Town, Reading and Leeds United, the latter being a 2-1 win at Elland Road in a Yorkshire derby, The Blades suffered a slightly surprising 1-0 defeat at Loftus road against QPR, so they’ll no doubt be keen to make amends in front of their home faithful on Saturday.
Sheffield United hold a decent record on home turf under manager Chris Wilder as his side have won six of their first seven with a record of 6-0-1 10/3, and they’ll be looking to record a fourth win on the trot here following wins over Wolves, Ipswich and Reading. Forwards Clarke (4 goals) and Sharp (6 goals) are expected to lead the line again today.
Hull City slumped to a second defeat on the trot at home during the week when they lost 3-1 to Middlesbrough which followed on from their loss last weekend to Nottingham Forest, and they now have a tough trip to Sheffield this Saturday to take on a confident Sheffield United side.
Despite being joint top goal scorers in the Championship along with league leaders, Wolves, only the bottom three clubs, Sunderland, Burton Albion and Bolton Wanderers have conceded more goals than The Tigers this season, and they’ll be up against a miserly defence which have kept four clean sheets at home to date.
Hull are unbeaten in their last three away from home with draws at Reading and Norwich City along with a 1-0 win at Barnsley, but two of these three opponents sit in the bottom half of the division, while Hull have managed just one away win from their last seven.
