Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

A Yorkshire local derby starts this Saturday’s action off for us with Sheffield United taking on Leeds United as the betting tips continue in a lunchtime clash at Bramall Lane.

Depending upon the margin of victory (if indeed they win), Sheffield United could go top of the Championship if they take all three points here, and they come into this local derby having secured a valuable 3-2 win away at Brentford which extended their unbeaten run to three matches.

Earlier, Sheffield United had been held to back-to-back draws with rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby as well as a 2-2 draw away at Rotherham United which saw The Blades throw away a valuable three points.

Chris Wilder will be motivating his side to continue this form though and with a home record of  5-3-1 16/9 that includes an eight matches without defeat, The Blades will be confident here. Forwards Sharp (10 goals), McGoldrick (5 goals) and Clarke (2 goals) are the danger men for the hosts.

Leeds United maintained their place in the automatic promotion spots with a 1-0 home win over Reading in midweek which made it two wins on the trot at Elland Road following a previous 2-0 win over Bristol City last Saturday.

They now make the short trip to Sheffield for this important lunchtime encounter against The Blades where they’ll no doubt be keen to put in a better shift than their last away match which ended in a heavy 4-1 defeat at West Brom.

Leeds possess an away record of  4-3-2  16/12 which includes recent wins at Hull City and Wigan Athletic but also includes defeats at Blackburn Rovers and West Brom. However, Leeds are very capable of scoring goals away from home and indeed, have done so in each of their away matches so far this season.

Roofe (8 goals), Hernandez (6 goals), Alioski and Roberts (3 goals apiece) show the attacking armoury that Marcelo Bielsa has up his sleeve.

It’s a local derby, the betting tips advise both teams will score here.
