Sheffield United Preview – Can the Blades make it six wins from nine?

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United have had a miserable season in the Premier League so far. The Blades are rooted to the foot of the table, taking a mere 11 points from a possible 69. Overall, the Sheffield club have won three, drawn two and lost 18.

Despite looking nailed on for relegation to the Championship, United have shown signs of life in recent weeks. They have won three of their last six in the Premier League, beating Newcastle United, Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion in 2021.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score

Wilder’s side have seen off Bristol Rovers and Plymouth Argyle to reach the last 16 of the FA Cup. Sheffield United will fancy their chances of getting past Bristol City at Bramall Lane to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Bristol City Preview – Robins to crash to another defeat?

Dean Holden made a good start to life as Bristol City manager, but the Robins have certainly stuttered in recent months. In the Championship, City have lost eight of their last 11. As a result, the Bristol club have dropped down to tenth, six points adrift of the play-offs.

The Robins have been in poor form in the league, but they did pick up an impressive away victory against fellow Championship side Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Goals from Famara Diedhiou, Nahki Wells and Antoine Semenyo gave City a comfortable 3-0 victory at The Den. In round three, they beat EFL League One side Portsmouth 2-1 at Ashton Gate.

Sheffield United vs Bristol City Betting Advice

Sheffield United won promotion from the 2018-19 Championship season, but Bristol City did the league double over the Blades. At Ashton Gate, a Marley Watkins goal gave City a 1-0 win, which they followed up with an excellent 3-2 victory at Bramall Lane, with Andreas Weimann netting a hat-trick. This will be the first FA Cup meeting between the pair since January 1975.
