Sheffield United Preview – Can Sheffield United extend their unbeaten run to four and maintain their place in the top half?

Chris Wilder has done a remarkable job in his time as Sheffield United boss and it’s showing no sign of stopping since reaching the Premier League. Two promotions in the space of three seasons was a surprise to most but the way in which the Blades have performed since reaching the top-flight is even more impressive. Now 10 games into their first Premier League campaign in over a decade, Sheffield United are sitting in eighth spot with 13 points. They sit above the other team clubs who won promotion last season and level on points with a clutch of names including Manchester United and West Ham. Wilder will be realistic enough to know that his team’s priority is still survival despite their good start.

The Blades have the joint best defensive record in the league along with Leicester and Liverpool. So often promoted teams struggle against this quality of attack and when you consider Aston Villa and Norwich have conceded at least double the amount of goals as the Blades, it’s an indicator of how well drilled they are under Wilder. It’s also just three defeats in their 10 matches and they remain unbeaten on their travels. All three of their losses may have come at home but they have all been by the odd goal and two have come against the current top three.

Burnley Preview – Will Burnley respond after two consecutive defeats with what would be their first away victory of the campaign?

We know what to expect from Burnley and that’s a credit to Sean Dyche that he is able to continue getting so much out this group of players. It may only be the start of November but it’s already looking as though the Clarets are going to be well out the battle to avoid the drop and that’s despite losing their last two games. A 2-1 defeat at high-flying Leicester and 4-2 loss at home to Chelsea mean Burnley have now dropped into the bottom half but they are just a point behind their weekend opponents in what is a very congested part of the table. Dyche will not be concerning himself with league positions but he will be keen to ensure his team do not lose a third game in succession.

The Clarets are still to get off the mark away from home with three draws from five matches. It’s well established that Burnley are stronger at home and will, in all likelihood, continue to pick up the majority of their points at Turf Moor. Dyche knows that points on the road are important though, and will be approaching it with a view to taking something from the game. Burnley have taken points from away games against Wolves, Villa and Brighton to date.

Sheffield United vs Burnley Betting Advice

These are two teams both managed by very impressive English coaches who approach the game in a very traditional manner. Wilder and Dyche prefer to play with two strikers and there’s a physicality running throughout the teams which is often unmatched. It makes for a very fascinating clash on Saturday and one which is very hard to call.

Sheffield United showed in their last home match how difficult they can make it for away teams, bringing an end to three straight home losses. Burnley will relish the battle much more than Arsenal did in that match and will feel they can stand up to that particular test. They don’t win many games on the road but you sense – as they have lost back to back games – that a point would be welcome result. The Blades are yet to draw at home this season but this looks as though it could be the first.
