On Saturday afternoon in the EFL Championship, Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United and Nathan Jones’ Luton Town go head-to-head at Bramall Lane. After four straight Championship victories, the Blades will be hoping to bounce back having failed to win any of their previous three in all competitions. The Hatters, who won at Reading in midweek, will not be an easy nut to crack in this one. Take a look at the latest betting odds and best predictions.

Sheffield United Preview – Will the Blades bounce back with a big three points?

Sheffield United moved up the table recently with four straight Championship wins. After taking over from Slavisa Jokanovic, Paul Heckingbottom won his first three, guiding the Blades to victories over Bristol City, Cardiff City and Fulham.

Sheffield United started 2022 with a 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers before losing 2-0 to lowly Derby County in the Championship. In midweek, United let a 2-0 lead slip to draw 2-2 with Preston North End at Deepdale.

Our betting prediction:

Having taken one point from a possible six, Sheffield United are now nine points away from the play-offs in 12th. The club from the Steel City will be desperate for a home win on Saturday.

Luton Town Preview – Can the Hatters upset the hosts in Sheffield?

Nathan Jones’ Luton Town are having a fine season. After the midweek win at Reading, the Hatters moved above the Blades into 11th. Overall, the Bedfordshire club have won nine, drawn seven and lost eight of 24 league games.

Luton are in excellent form, taking ten points from the last 12 on offer. Since losing at home to Cardiff in late November, Town have seen off Blackpool, Bournemouth and Reading, and have drawn with Fulham.

Luton are undefeated in three on the road, keeping three clean sheets to boot. Can Jones’ troops keep their momentum going with a positive result at Bramall Lane this weekend? The away win is priced at 7/2, and the draw is available at 5/2.

Sheffield United vs Luton Town Betting Advice

The game between the pair at Kenilworth Road earlier in the season was the first meeting between Luton and Sheffield United since 2006. The Hatters and Blades played out a goalless draw at Kenilworth Road in August.

When they last met at Bramall Lane, United ran out big 4-0 winners. Phil Jagielka bagged a brace, while Chris Morgan and Vincent Pericard were also on the scoresheet in that meeting way back in November 2005.

Key Facts – Sheffield United vs Luton Town Betting Tip

  • Sheffield United have picked up one point from their last two
  • Luton have won four and drawn one of their last five league and cup fixtures
  • The game earlier in the season ended in a goalless draw

Luton have won two in a row away from home, beating Blackpool 3-0 and Reading 2-0. Before that, they held Nottingham Forest to a 0-0 draw at the City Ground. We fancy the in-form Hatters to leave Bramall Lane with a point on Saturday. There is good value in 4/1 for the draw and both teams to score.

Elijah Adebayo is having a superb season at Kenilworth Road, helping himself to ten Championship goals. The 24-year-old is available at 17/2 to score the opening goal of this one.
