Sheffield United Prediction – Can Sheffield Utd extend stubborn run?

Undoubtedly, the surprise package in the Premier League so far this season has been newcomers, Sheffield United, who were promoted from the Championship at the end of last season and Chris Wilder’s side now sit in 5th place and 1 point above Sunday’s opponents, Manchester United.

Following a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Liverpool at the end of September, Sheffield United have put together a decent 5-match unbeaten run in the top flight which includes wins against Arsenal 1-0 and Burnley 3-0, both of which were recorded at Bramall Lane.

The Blades have also picked up valuable points in draws with Watford, West Ham and Tottenham – the latter being a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a result which contributed to former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino losing his job.

The hosts did suffer a shaky start to the season though, especially at home despite winning their opening match 1-0 against Crystal Palace, as they lost their subsequent 3 matches on the trot to Leicester City, Southampton and Liverpool, but back-to-back wins over Arsenal and Burnley should give them confidence for Sunday.

Manchester United Prediction – Can Manchester United steal 5th spot?

With former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino now a free agent, it’s rumoured that a bad result away at Sheffield United could cost United’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job at Old Trafford as the seasonal managerial merry-go-round is now seemingly in full swing.

At best, the jury still seem to be out on Solskjaer who has led Manchester United to an indifferent looking overall record in the Premier League this season of 4-4-4 16/12, and this is not what United fans (or the owners) expect from a side that totally dominated the domestic scene under Sir Alex Ferguson.

United have lost just once at home so far this season but it’s been their poor results away from home which have once again started the alarm bells ringing at old Trafford as the visitors possess a poor record of 1-2-3 5/7.

Their one win on the road to date came in the shape of a 3-1 win at bottom club, Norwich City, but having suffered defeats at West Ham, Newcastle United and Bournemouth already on their travels, one wonders if Solskjaer will still be at the helm for the forthcoming derby clash at Manchester City in early December?

Key-Facts – Sheffield United vs Manchester United

Betting Tips Verdict

Sheffield United’s tails will be up and will be confident they can get a result here while it could be a case of the last chance saloon for Manchester United and manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
