Sheffield United Preview – Can Blades sharpen up?
Following last season’s encouraging return to the English top flight which saw Sheffield United achieve a creditable 9th place finish, it’s with some surprise that The Blades find themselves in early trouble at the foot of this season’s Premier League table having earned just a single point to date this term.

Seven defeats out of their first eight matches of this new campaign has left Chris Wilder’s side bottom with only a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers, Fulham, to show for their troubles; and having lost four of their last five matches at home, this doesn’t bode well for Sheffield United.

A 1-0 home win over London rivals, Fulham, handed West Ham and David Moyes a valuable three points heading into the international break as The Hammers were given a lucky break after Fulham’s Lookman squandered a golden opportunity to draw level from the penalty spot, trying to be too cute.
West Ham fans may have been fearing the worst at the start of the season though as their side were dealt back-to-back defeats against newcastle United and Arsenal, but the visitors have since managed to bounce back by recording valuable wins over Wolves and Leicester City along with picking up points in draws with Tottenham and Manchester City.
In addition, West Ham have lost just two of their last seven matches on their travels and with Sheffield United having to press forward here in order to grab their first win of the season, West Ham may well exploit The Blades on the counter here.
