The Championship fixtures continue thick and fast with a full slate of games in midweek, and our next preview features Sheffield Wednesday taking on Luton Town as the betting tips continue at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday Prediction – Can Sheffield Weds bounce back?
After making a bright start to their new Championship campaign, Sheffield Wednesday were handed their first defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon when they lost 1-0 away from home at The Den against Millwall.
An encouraging start to the campaign though saw Sheffield Wednesday claim early back-to-back wins in the second tier with victories against Reading away from home at the Madejski Stadium with a 3-1 win and a solid 2-0 home win against Yorkshire rivals, Barnsley, at Hillsborough in their opening home match of the season.
Having been dealt a defeat at Millwall on the weekend, Sheffield Wednesday will no doubt be keen to bounce straight back on home turf on Tuesday night against the new-boys, Luton Town, in order to get back to winning ways.
Caretaker-manager, Lee Bullen, will also be keen to set the record straight as he bids to make his position a permanent one at the helm of the club, and record a sixth win in this his third stint as caretaker boss with The Owls.
Luton Town Prediction – Can Luton get anything at Hillsborough?
It’s been a tough start to Luton Town’s long-awaited return to the Championship as The Hatters have managed just 1 win this season from their opening 4 matches of this new season that held so much promise for the visitors.
Of course, it’s till early days but Luton’s only highlight so far in this new season was a 3-1 home win over League One side, Ipswich Town, in the League Cup, but I fancy the Bedford based outfit would have traded that cup win for an important 3 points in the Championship.
Having gained just 1 point from their first 3 league matches in the Championship, Luton Town are amongst the early strugglers near the bottom of the division, with their single point being taken from their opening day 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough at their Kenilworth Road ground.
However, since then, Luton Town have suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Cardiff City and West Brom, both in 2-1 defeats, but the latter was on home turf this Saturday afternoon.
In addition, there’s early concerns hovering over Luton’s defensive capabilities as the Hatters have conceded 7 goals in their first 3 matches of this Championship season, and further goals look likely to follow on Tuesday night.
