Sheffield Wednesday will no doubt be keen to hang onto the last play-off place in the Championship as they sit in 6th spot ahead of the visit from a revived Cardiff City under Neil Warnock at Hillsborough on Friday afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday have recently registered back-to-back wins against Rotherham United and most impressive of all, a 2-1 home win over Newcastle United last time out. The Owls hold a good home record of 13-2-5 32/19 and an even better record on home turf against bottom half opposition.
Their record in such situations stands at an impressive 7-2-2 17/9 and the likes of forwards Rhodes, Fletcher, Hooper and Forestieri will be looking to further add to this record.
Visitors Cardiff City have continued their revival under manager Neil Warnock as the Bluebirds now hold a commanding 15-point lead ahead of the relegation zone, a position which seemed out of their reach just a few months ago.
The Welsh outfit now sit in a more respectable 14th place in the Championship following a recent run of just one defeat from their last six league matches overall which was a 3-1 loss away at Wolves, but also includes wins over Ipswich Town and Brentford.
However, there’s still work to be done away from home for Cardiff who have gone four away matches without a win having suffered recent defeats at Warnock’s former club QPR as well as Wolves amidst an overall record of 5-6-9 26/34.
Sheffield Wednesday should claim the points here, but in view of the Warnock factor with Cardiff, I’ll give the quarter-ball on the hosts in this one.
