Shrewsbury can cause West Ham a few problems in FA Cup

SHREWSBURY TOWN v WEST HAM

Football – England – FA Cup Betting Tips

The third round of the FA Cup continues on Sunday, with more Premier League teams in action against teams in the lower leagues, and my next pick is a real David versus Goliath with League One outfit, Shrewsbury Town, taking on West Ham at the new Meadow Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Shrewsbury Town have confounded all the critics so far this season as they sit in second place in the third tier, just two points behind league leaders, Wigan Athletic, and The Shrews have proved they’re not a flash in the pan as the season has just ticked past the halfway mark.

The Shropshire outfit have won their last four league matches on the trot at home, and they’ve picked up clean sheets in the FA Cup first and second rounds with 5-0 and 2-0 wins over Aldershot Town and Morecambe respectively. Look out for forward trio, Whalley, Payne and Morris here.

West Ham’s situation has vastly improved under new manager, David Moyes despite a slow start to his reign, as The Hammers have now lost just once in their last seven in the Premier League, which includes a 1-0 home win over Chelsea.

However, concerns still remain over West Ham’s performances and results away from home where they’ve managed to pick up just one win from their last eight trips overall, and with the priority being to retain their Premier League status, I fancy Moyes to shuffle his pack for this cup tie as his side are still not out of the woods yet.

The Hammers are just two points above the bottom three, and although Moyes runs the risk of a potential banana skin here, the financial rewards for staying in the top flight far outweigh any cup success.
