Jindrich Trpisovsky’s Slavia Prague entertain Petr Rada’s Jablonec at the Sinobo Stadium in the Czech First League on Saturday. Slavia are well clear at the top of the Fortuna Liga and the leaders are the overwhelming favourites to take maximum points from this one. Jablonec are on a decent run of form, but Saturday’s game in the capital will be a tough task.

Slavia Prague Preview – Easy Win for the hosts?

The Czech champions have been dominant once again this season. Jindrich Trpisovsky’s boys have picked up an impressive 19 wins from 25 games, drawing four of the other six. They are the top scorers in the league with 49 goals, also conceding the fewest (eight).

However, before the unscheduled break, Slavia Prague had taken just four points from a possible 12. They scored late to rescue a 1-1 draw with Prague rivals Sparta in their final game in March. Nevertheless, the champions struck back with a 1-0 away win at Mlada Boleslav last Tuesday, with Petr Sevcik scoring the only goal of the game.

Slavia have been near faultless at home this season, dropping just two points from a possible 36. The Red and Whites have won 11 and drawn one of 12 Czech First League matches at the Sinobo Stadium. However, that draw did come in their last home encounter.

Jablonec Preview – Can Rada’s in-form side cause Slavia problems?

Jablonec make the trip to Prague in good form. Petr Rada’s troops returned to league action with a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Zlin last Tuesday. Since a 1-0 home reverse to Dynamo Ceske Budejovice on December 1st, Jablonec have suffered just one loss.

Petr Rada’s men have been very hard to beat away from home this season. In fact, the club from Jablonec nad Nisou are unbeaten on the road in eight in the Czech First League, winning four and drawing four. Their last away defeat came way back in September.

Jablonec are on course to better their fourth-place finish from last season. At the time of writing, they are third behind leaders Slavia Prague and second-place Viktoria Plzen, four points ahead of Slovan Liberec. Can they cause an upset in the capital at the weekend?

Slavia Prague vs Jablonec Betting Advice

The midweek win at Mlada Boleslav will have settled any nerves, and Slavia’s title bid is well and truly back on track. Jablonec will no doubt be formidable opponents, but the champions should take all three points from this one.

Key Facts – Slavia Prague vs Jablonec Betting Tip

  • Slavia have dropped just two home points all season
  • Jablonec have not lost away from home since September
  • Prague are eight points clear at the top of the Czech First League table

It was far from easy, but Slavia picked up a 2-0 win in the reverse game in Jablonec back in October. Two quickfire goals from Tomas Soucek and Peter Oladeji Olayinka in the second half gave Prague a 2-0 win.

Slavia’s defence has been breached just eight times in 25 league games thus far. I can see them keeping another clean sheet on Saturday, so put some money on the home side to win to nil at 11/10. I also like the look of evens for Prague to win -1 on home turf.
