Slovenia Prediction – Can Slovenia slow Poland down?

4th placed Slovenia will face a tough test of their Euro 2020 credentials when they prepare for the visit of Group G leaders, Poland, at their Stadion Stožice as the hosts look to capture just a second win during this group campaign.

Slovenia started their campaign with back-to-back draws against Israel and North Macedonia, both in 1-1 stalemates, but then fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Austria which helped the Austrians into 3rd spot in the group.

However, Slovenia bounced back in emphatic style with a 5-0 win in Latvia last time out in Group G and the hosts will be hoping that this convincing victory will give them momentum against group leaders Poland on Friday night.

But with just 5 home wins from their last 14 Euro qualifiers, Slovenia will have their work cut out to get a result against Poland especially as they’ve conceded in 9 of these last 14 matches on home soil, and a certain Mr Lewandowski coming to town…

Poland Prediction – Can Poland extend lead at top?

Poland are one of six teams that still possess a 100% winning record in these Euro 2020 qualifiers as the visitors have swept aside all competition in Group G so far this season by winning all 4 of their group matches to date.

Wins over Austria 1-0, Latvia 2-0, North Macedonia 1-0 and a 4-0 romp over Israel have resulted in impressive wins for the Poles, and even more impressive is the fact that they’ve kept clean sheets in each of these first four group matches as well.

No other team in these Euro qualifiers have yet to concede other than Poland, and with the likes of Lewandowski (2 goals) and Piatek (3 goals) in Poland’s attacking armoury, the visitors look a hard team to beat despite being away from home.

Overall, Poland have won 6 of their last 7 matches in Euro qualifiers while away from home, they’ve suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 10 matches on their travels which was a 3-1 loss at Germany back in September 2015.

Key-Facts – Slovenia v Poland

  • Slovenia have won just 5 of their last 14 Euro qualifiers at home
  • Poland have won 6 of their last 7 matches in Euro qualifiers
  • No other team in these Euro qualifiers have yet to concede other than Poland

Betting Tips Verdict

Slovenia face a tough ask here against a solid looking Poland outfit, and the visitors should at the very least avoid defeat here but could nick this perhaps 1-0 or 2-0.
