Sonderjyske headed into the Danish winter break on the back of a four match run without a league win after defeats to Brondby and Nordsjaelland but they did manage to pick up points in draws with Horsens and Hobro, both away form home.
The break didn’t do the hosts any favours though as Sonderjyske have lost their first two matches upon their return on the trot with losses against Copenhagen and Vejle, so they’ll be hoping they can turn things around quickly now on Friday night as the hosts now find themselves six points adrift of the Championship Round cut-off point.
After making a solid start to the season with just one defeat from their first seven matches at home in the Superliga, which included wins over Horsens, Vendsyssel and Vejle, they since slumped to three defeats on the trot within a record of 3-3-4 9/10.
The goals have been few and far between as well where Sonderjyske are concerned with six of their 10 home matches resulting in under 2.5 goals.

Onto Aarhus and they occupy a much more comfortable 8th place and are just one point adrift of the Championship Round places as they make their way over to face Sonderjyske who have lost their last three home matches on the spin.
Aarhus ended the winter break on a high note with a 1-0 home win over lowly Hobro and they resumed their campaign after the winter break on a similar high note with a 2-0 home win over Esbjerg, so they’ll head into this Friday night clash in confident mood.
However, Aarhus’s results away from home have been woeful in recent times as they’ve now gone six matches without a win on the road which includes four defeats at Horsens, Copenhagen, Brondby and Nordsjaelland along with draws at Esbjerg and OB Odense.
The visitors’ away record therefore reads a below-par looking 1-5-4 9/13 with Aarhus also struggling for goals on their travels as they’ve failed to score in 5 of their 10 away matches so far this season.
