China sit level on points with Wednesday evening’s opponents South Korea as both teams have registered the maximum six points from their first two matches of the group phase.
China have registered wins against Kyrgyzstan 2-1 and a 3-0 win over Philippines to emerge as joint favourites to progress into the next stage along with South Korea – they too will want to edge their opponents in order for a more favourable route in the next phase.
China have lost just once in their last eight matches, but have won just three of these matches with an additional win over Syria back in October along with the two recent aforementioned Asian Cup victories.
Perhaps a more telling statistic is that China have kept just 4 clean sheets in their last 9 matches which is a lower percentage to that of South Korea and this could ultimately be the difference in this clash.
