It was a case of different manager but same old problems for Southampton as they slumped to another defeat last weekend, but significantly, was against relegation rivals Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium as they lost 1-0.

6 of these last 12 matches have seen Southampton fail to hit the back of the net and having lost three of their last four, as well as possessing a poor home record of 0-5-2 6/10, they look to have their work cut out to try to contain an attacking Arsenal outfit on Sunday afternoon.
Leading goalscorer Danny Ings (4 goals) is an injury doubt and even if he does make the squad, may not feature from the start.

Arsenal sit in 5th place but are level on points with London rivals Chelsea ahead of this important Sunday’s fixtures in the Premier League, and Arsenal will be looking to claim a third win in all competitions following their league win at Huddersfield Town 1-0 last weekend and their midweek Europa League win over Qarabag.
The Gunners return to top flight league action here though and look in good shape as they’e put together an impressive 14-match unbeaten run under manager Unai Emery, together with a solid away record of 4-2-1 18/12.
Following their opening away loss at Chelsea, Arsenal have won four of their next six matches on their travels with wins at Cardiff City, Newcastle United, Fulham and Bournemouth, and will have the returning leading goalscorer Patrick Aubameyang (10 goals) spearheading their attack on Sunday afternoon.

Southampton have struggled to hit the back of the net this season which has cost them dear, as well as making numerous mistakes at the back.
