Having seen off Leeds United 2-0 at home, West Ham then needed late strikes from Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen to avoid one of the FA Cup’s greatest upsets.
Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Wolves at London Stadium felt hugely important within the context of the Champions League race. It also stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to five, although that is now just two wins inside 90 minutes across their last seven contests (W2 D3 L2). Moreover, their recovery time is a lot shorter compared with opponents Southampton, who were in action last Friday.
