Staying with League A and switching to Group 4, group leaders, Spain take on England as the betting tips continue in this Monday night’s edition of the UEFA Nations League.
Spain have emerged as the clear favourites to win this three-nation group that also includes Croatia whom England are level on points with as they battle it out to avoid relegation. Spain have no such worries ahead of playing host to England as they’ve enjoyed dominant displays against England (winning 2-1 at Wembley) and then thrashing Croatia 6-0 in Madrid.
The hosts have therefore racked up maximum points from their opening two matches of the group, and along with a recent 4-1 win away at Wales, the home side are in confident mood and in excellent form.
This doesn’t bode well for England who let a one-goal lead slip at Wembley against Monday night’s opponents, and with the likes of Isco, Aspas and Rodrigo in harness, the home side will go in search of putting this group beyond doubt.
Onto England and they’re now embroiled in a relegation battle with their World Cup nemesis, Croatia as they make their way over to Seville for this important Group 4 clash against the runaway group leaders.
England’s Nations League campaign started on a disappointing note as they lost 2-1 at home to Spain at Wembley but they recovered somewhat with a valuable point in recent 0-0 draw away against Croatia who they lost to in the World Cup semi-finals.
The fact remains though that England have managed just one win from their last five matches in all competitions which was an unconvincing 1-0 home win over Switzerland in a recent friendly as the euphoria surrounding their World Cup finals run seems to have now dissipated.
England’s lack of quality and creativity in midfield is likely to hold them back again here and my betting tips advise a home win for Spain.
