St Johnstone Preview – Saints to crash to a fourth successive loss

St Johnstone were one of the relegation favourites before a ball was kicked in the summer, and the Saints have made a poor start to their 2020-21 Premiership campaign. After finishing sixth last term, St Johnstone would have been hoping for another fine season, but they currently sit second from bottom with just seven points to their name. They are only off the foot of the table on goal difference.

St Johnstone head into Sunday’s tough game having lost five of their last six league matches. They started with four points from their first three, but the Saints have taken just three from a possible 18 since then. Callum Davidson’s boys have lost three of their opening four home games.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score – No
4/7

Last Saturday, St Johnstone fell to a third defeat on the spin, this time losing 2-0 at Livingston. The bookies are not giving Davidson’s boys much hope in this one, with the home victory priced at the big odds of 9/1.

Celtic Preview – Another easy victory for the champions?

It has been a busy period for Celtic, who have already played 12 league and cup matches thus far. The Hoops have been their usual dominant selves, though, winning ten of those 12 fixtures. Celtic’s only defeat came against Ferencvaros in a UEFA Champions League qualifier back in August.

The champions have dropped just two points in the Premiership so far. Since drawing at Kilmarnock on matchday two, the Bhoys have won each of their following six in the league, scoring 17 and conceding just three. Last time out in the Premiership, goals from Callum McGregor, Albian Ajeti and Mohamed Elyounoussi gave the Glasgow giants a comfortable home win over Hibernian.

Rivals Rangers, who have played a game more, are top of the Premiership table at present. After the international break, Celtic and Rangers lock horns in a mouth-watering Old Firm encounter at Celtic Park. Before then, though, Neil Lennon’s men will be looking for all three points at McDiarmid Park at the weekend.
