St Johnstone Preview – Can the Saints make home advantage count?
Callum Davidson’s St Johnstone have made an indifferent start to their 2020-21 Premiership campaign. The Saints have taken four points from 12 on the table, winning one, drawing one and losing two.
Davidson’ side kicked off the new season with a hard-fought draw with newly promoted Dundee United at Tannadice Park. St Johnstone went a goal behind and had a man sent off, but Liam Craig’s 55th-minute goal rescued a point in Dundee.
On matchday two, the Perth club were easily beaten by Rangers at Ibrox, with Borna Barisic, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo scoring in a 3-0 win for Steven Gerrard’s men.
St Johnstone dusted themselves after the heavy defeat in Glasgow, securing their first win of the season last time out. They fell behind on the hour mark, but late goals from David Wotherspoon and Michal O’Halloran earned Davidson’s troops a deserved 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. On Thursday night, however, they lost 1-0 at home to Aberdeen.
Sunday’s match will be a tough one against in-form Hibernian, but can the Saints make home advantage count?
Hibernian Preview – Hibees to maintain unbeaten start?
After a somewhat subdued season in the top flight last time around, Hibernian are keen to improve on that this season. Jack Ross’ Hibees have been quick out of the blocks, winning three and drawing one of their opening four matches. At the time of writing, Hibs are joint top of the Premiership with Rangers.
The Cabbage started with a 2-1 home win over Kilmarnock before thumping Livingston 4-1 away from home. They then made it three wins on the spin when they won 1-0 at Tannadice Park on matchday three.

Ross’ side winning streak came to an end last time out, but they did manage to pick up a point and a clean sheet from last Saturday’s home fixture with Motherwell.
After finishing in sixth spot last term, Hibernian will be looking for a higher finish this time. They have made a good start, with no team accumulating more points after four games. Victory this weekend will send out another big signal of intent to their rivals.
