St Johnstone Preview – Saints going well after slow start
The Saints had an indifferent start to the campaign but are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions with three wins and two draws and have only lost two of their last 14.
Tommy Wright’s team are clearly in much better form than when beaten 4-0 at Ibrox earlier in the season and should give the Glasgow side a run for their money with home advantage.
Bournemouth loanee Matt Butcher impressed in last week’s 1-1 draw with Ross County in the Highlands and has a further seven days to get accustomed to his new team-mates. The midfielder could be instrumental as Saints seek a strong end to the regular season. Their recent run as seen them climb away from the foot of the table and the manager is now eyeing a place in the top six.
Callum Hendry remains the Saints’ top scorer but was only on the bench last week and this is a team which likes to share the goals around. The much-travelled Stevie May continues to find the net wherever he plies his trade and is now back where he started. Drey Wright is attracting envious glances from teams south of the border and can further advertise his worth with a strong showing against Rangers.
