St Mirren Preview – Can the Buddies make it nine points from a possible 12?

St Mirren have made a strong start to their season, picking up six points from a possible nine. Jim Goodwin’s boys opened with a narrow 1-0 victory over Livingston at St Mirren Park, with Richard Tait scoring the only goal of the game. However, they were easily beaten by Rangers at Ibrox in game two.

Last time out, St Mirren returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at Hamilton Academical. It was a tight one at New Douglas Park, but an early Jonathan Obika strike proved to be enough to give them a precious 1-0 win.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
4/5

This will be the Buddies’ first home match since beating the Livi Lions on the opening weekend of the season. St Mirren picked up just five home league victories last term, something that they will want to address this season. Can the Saints make it nine points from four matches on Saturday?

Ross County Preview – Will the Staggies return to Dingwall with a positive result?

Stuart Kettlewell’s Ross County have made a good start to their 2020-21 Premiership campaign. After four fixtures played, the Staggies have picked up seven points, with only Rangers and Hibernian taking more thus far (both with ten).

County secured back-to-back wins at the start of the season, beating Motherwell 1-0 at home on the opening weekend. Kettlewell’s troops followed that up with a 1-0 victory at Hamilton.

However, they have failed to win in their last two, drawing 2-2 with Kilmarnock and losing 2-1 at home to Dundee United last time out. Nevertheless, seven points from a possible 12 is a decent return for County.

Ross County finished in a lowly tenth place in Scotland’s top tier last season. The Staggies from Dingwall will certainly be hoping to improve on that this time around. Can they pick up a priceless three points on the road at the weekend?

St Mirren vs Ross County Betting Advice

Last season, St Mirren and Ross County met twice in the Premiership. Ross County won 2-1 at home back in September, with St Mirren returning the favour with a 2-1 home victory of their own just a couple of months later. In fact, each of the last three and four of the last five fixtures between the pair have ended in 2-1 scorelines.

  • St Mirren’s two victories have been by a one-goal margin

There has been just one draw in this fixture in the last 11, but I can see the two cancelling each other out at St Mirren Park on Saturday. Check out the tempting odds of 10/3 for the draw and both teams to score.

Ross County have opened the scoring in all four of their league matches so far this season. The away team will be looking for a fast start on Saturday, so back the Staggies to score first in Paisley at 6/5.
