Standard Liege Preview – Can hosts raise Standard?
After finishing in 6th place in the Belgian First Division A regular season, Standard Liege then entered the Conference League play-offs but the second phase of the season was a period that Standard Liege will probably want to forget as they lost five of their six matches.
Home and away defeats against Oostende and Mechelen along with a 2-0 loss away at Gent well and truly dashed any hopes of a place in this season’s inaugural Europa Conference League, so the hosts will be keen to improve upon that this time around.
