Stevenage return to their Lamex Stadium for Saturday afternoon’s encounter against Yeovil Town in League Two with both teams searching for all three points to help lift them towards a safer mid-table position.
Neither side are in immediate danger of being dragged into the relegation battle below them in the table, but Stevenage will be keen to break a a four match sequence without a win in the fourth tier following defeats to Swindon Town, Accrington Stanley and Forest Green Rovers.
However, all is not lost for Stevenage, and the picture looks much brighter when looking at their results at home where they’ve suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches on home turf, where they’ve held the likes of Notts County, Coventry City, Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town to draws, amidst an overall record of 6-7-3 28/18. Yeovil Town sit just one league place and one point behind their hosts, Stevenage, ahead of their trip to Hertfordshire, with a strong recent set of results behind them which include wins over Grimsby Town, Cambridge United and Barnet, along with a point away at Crewe Alexandra.
However, this doesn’t quite tell the whole story as all three of these wins were recorded at Huish Park, while on the road, Yeovil have managed just one league win from their last 10 trips, which was a 2-0 win at Cheltenham Town.
An away record of 2-4-9 18/34 perhaps provides a better insight into Yeovil’s lack of results away from home this season, and The Glovers also possess the worst defensive record away from home in League Two.
