Stoke City Preview – Potters’ unbeaten run to come to an end this weekend?

Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City have been competitive so far, winning two, drawing three and losing one of their opening six in the Championship. Since falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City on matchday two, City have won two and drawn two of four.

The Potters picked up three league and cup wins on the spin before drawing 1-1 with Birmingham City at the bet365 Stadium before the international break. Since returning, Stoke have won 2-0 at Luton Town and drawn 2-2 with Barnsley.

Our betting prediction:
Brentford to win & both teams to score

Stoke are through to the last eight of the Carabao Cup, where they will face Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in December. So far, they have beaten Blackpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Gillingham and Aston Villa in the EFL Cup.

A cup run is all well and good, but Stoke’s main aim is to get back into the Premier League. Three points on Saturday will be another big step in the right direction for O’Neill’s men.

Brentford Preview – Third win on the bounce for the Bees?

After missing out on promotion to the Premier League in the Championship play-off final last term, Brentford kicked off this season with a disappointing 1-0 away loss at Birmingham. Since then, though, Thomas Frank’s boys have won three of their following five in the Championship.

Like Stoke, Brentford are also through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup. Having seen off Wycombe Wanderers, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham, the Bees will go up against Newcastle United in the last eight.

After beating Coventry City 2-0 at the Brentford Community Stadium last Saturday, another Ivan Toney brace gave the London side a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in midweek.
