Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City and Russell Martin’s Swansea City go head-to-head in EFL Championship action this Tuesday night at the bet365 Stadium. After dropping into the bottom half of the table after recent results, the Potters will be desperate for all three points in midweek. The Swans will be buoyed from last weekend’s triumph over high-flying Blackburn Rovers, but Stoke are the favourites in this one. Check out the latest odds and predictions.

Stoke City Preview – Will the Potters get back on track?

Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City have flirted with the top six at times this season, but the Potters head into the midweek round of fixtures in 14th spot. Stoke have sealed 11 wins, drawn six times and suffered 11 defeats, amassing 39 points from 28 games.

Since winning three in a row in November, Stoke have picked up just two wins from ten Championship games, losing six of those along the way. City have lost four of their previous six in the league, though they did manage to beat EFL League One high-flyers Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup last time out.

Our betting prediction:

Having taken one point from the last nine on offer, Tuesday’s clash against Swansea really is a must-win game if Stoke want to keep up with the top six. The home victory is priced at 5/4.

Swansea City Preview – Can the Swans return to Wales with a positive result?

Swansea City claimed a precious three points in their last outing. Blackburn are riding high in second, but Michael Obafemi’s 16th-minute strike at the Swansea.com Stadium was enough to give Russell Martin’s boys a much-needed 1-0 victory.

The Welsh club have struggled on their travels in recent weeks. Since winning 2-0 at Barnsley in November, Swansea have taken two points from a possible 12 away from home. After draws at Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers, the Swans lost 2-0 at Hull City in their last away game.

Swansea would have gained supreme confidence from Saturday’s win over Blackburn – can the South Wales club build on that with a positive result against Stoke on Tuesday?

Stoke City vs Swansea City Betting Advice

When these two clashed in Wales at the start of the season, O’Neill’s Stoke ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at the Swansea.com Stadium. Goals from Nick Powell, Sam Clucas and Leo Ostigard had the away side three up by the hour. Joel Piroe pulled one back for Swansea late on.

Last season, however, Swansea did the double over Stoke. After a 2-0 home win in October 2020, the Swans won 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium in March 2021.

Key Facts – Stoke City vs Swansea City Betting Tip

  • Stoke have won only two of their past ten in the Championship
  • Swansea have claimed just three away wins in the league this term
  • The Potters won 3-1 at the Swansea.com Stadium back in August

Stoke were too good for Swansea in South Wales in the matchup earlier in the campaign, and we fancy the Staffordshire club to do the league double. We like the look of 4/1 for the Stoke victory and both teams to score.

Josh Maja marked his Stoke debut with a goal in the FA Cup in the weekend win over Wigan. The 23-year-old is nicely priced at 5/1 to score the opening goal of this game.
