Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

The Stadium of Light and home advantage appears to be something of a hindrance for Sunderland as they still seek their first win in the Championship this season, and although they received a brief glimpse of a revival with an away win at Burton Albion, the Black Cats have slumped again since.

This Saturday they take on Fulham having suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Reading but they did manage to hold the Championship leaders, Wolves, to a 0-0 draw last weekend, so perhaps this may be the start of turning a corner for today’s hosts.

A home record of  0-4-6  11/19 however, doesn’t fill me with confidence that Sunderland will take all three points here, but they have managed to score in 8 of their 10 home matches to date. Forward, Lewis Grabban (11 goals) looks the most likely to notch for the home side.

Visitors Fulham have recently started to improve their results in the past few matches as they’ve lost just once in their last five league meetings, which was a 3-1 loss away to London rivals, Brentford, but wins over Sheffield United, Millwall and Birmingham City should have rebuilt their confidence.

However, Fulham’s recent form on their travels doesn’t reflect what’s been happening at Craven Cottage as they’ve lost three of their last four, but with a visit to the north-east today against a second from bottom Sunderland outfit, they may well fancy their chances of turning around their results away from home here.

Fulham have also scored in 8 of their 10 away matches within an overall record of  4-2-4  16/16 which shows a distinct lack of consistency, but I’m confident that both teams will score in this clash today.
