Now in their third year at this level, the only objective for Phil Parkinson and his players is to lead Sunderland back to the Championship. The support have had little to be positive about over the past three years and with every season that passes without some success, it gets more difficult with the pressure ramping up. That has been apparent at the Stadium of Light of late.
Sunderland are coming into this game on the back of a couple of disappointing result in cup competitions. It may still be early in the season but it looks like this is going to be another campaign for MK Dons where they are fighting against relegation. With just two wins all season it has been a grind to date. And facing two of the current top six and promotion hopefuls in their next two games is going to be very testing for them. The Dons are also looking for their first away win of the season having drawn two and losing the other four.
Midfielder Scott Fraser made the move from Burton in the summer and has been a shining light with three goals in his 10 league appearances.
