Suwon will still be kicking themselves after throwing away a two-goal lead at home to Ulsan last Sunday.
Goals from Ko Seung-Beom and Suleyman Krpic appeared to have put them in command against the early-pace setters but they wilted in the final half-hour.
That followed on from an opening-day defeat at Jeonbuk Motors so confidence may be a little low at present. Last year’s FA Cup winners lost 14 times in the league last year and were over-reliant on Aussie striker Adam Taggart.
The former Brisbane Roar forward is back in his country’s international squad but last season ended as a bit of a damp squib and he’s not been fit so far this term, dropping to the bench last week, though he did score four times last year against Incheon.
Manager Lee Lim-saeng really needs a result in this game as he is already under pressure so will probably recall Taggart but fellow countryman Terry Antonis is still missing
Incheon United Preview – Incheon likely to rely on defence again
Incheon are struggling to get 90 minutes out of star forward Stefan Mugosa at present.
The Montenegrin international netted 14 goals in 22 games last season but was clearly not at his best in last Sunday’s bore-draw against Seongnam at the Tancheon Sports Complex and was eventually substituted.
Defender Gordon Bunoza may only be fit enough to return to the bench this Saturday so it’s likely his team will continue their cautious approach for the time being, with Rashid Mahazi adopting a holding role in midfield ahead of solid centre-back Mun Ji-hwan and experienced goalkeeper Jeong San.
