FA Cup Betting at bet365

Swansea City Prediction

Swansea City occupy 9th place in the Championship and six points adrift of the play-off pack but it’s been a season of consolidation for the Welsh club following last season’s heartbreaking relegation from the Premier League and new manager Graham Potter coming in for this season.

It’s been a learning curve for both Swansea and Potter but they come into this FA Cup tie having put together a promising five-match unbeaten run in all competitions which include recent Championship wins over Reading and play-off candidates Sheffield United, as well as a 3rd round FA Cup win against Aston Villa where The Swans recorded a 3-0 win at Villa Park.

With League One opposition facing them in this 4th round, Swansea will fancy their chances of progressing through to the next round where further financial incentives could await them. Form at home in recent weeks has been a little inconsistent as Swansea have registered wins against the two Sheffield clubs, Wednesday and United, but have also fallen to defeats to West Brom and Aston Villa.

Swansea forward McBurnie (11 goals) has caught the eye this season and looks the most likely to notch for the hosts along with Celina (4 goals).

Key-Facts – Swansea City v Gillingham

  • Swansea City are unbeaten in their last 5 matches in all competitions
  • Gillingham have won 5 of their last 7 away from home in all competitions
  • Gillingham have scored in 3 of their 4 FA Cup ties

Gillingham Prediction

Gillingham occupy a position in the lower reaches of League one as the Kent club sit in 19th place and just one point above the relegation zone as they forget about their league troubles for this week as they make their way over to Wales to face Swansea City.

Recent league form has seen Gillingham lose three of their last four matches overall with defeats to Doncaster Rovers, Southend United and Walsall, although results away from home have resulted in five wins from Gillingham’s seven matches on their travels.

The Gills have reached the 4th round of the FA Cup this year by virtue of beating National League outfit Hartlepool United (but needing extra time to do so), Slough Town and Cardiff City.

Forward Eaves (14 goals) is the obvious danger man up front for the visitors who have scored in three of their four cup-ties so far.

Betting Tips Verdict

Swansea City’s quality should win through in the end but Gillingham could give the Welsh club a scare along the way.
