Swansea City Preview – Will the Swans seal first home league win?

Russell Martin has had a tough time in South Wales so far. The 35-year-old took over at the Swansea.com Stadium in the summer after impressing at MK Dons. However, Martin has guided the Swans to just one win from eight Championship games.

Since a 3-1 loss at Preston North End last month, Swansea have drawn three in a row. Last weekend, they were 3-0 down to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, but late goals from Jamie Paterson, Olivier Ntcham and Joel Piroe gave the Welsh side an unlikely share of the spoils.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
5/6

Since returning to the stadium, the Swansea fans have yet to see their team win at home in the Championship. City have lost one and drawn three of four Championship fixtures at the Swansea.com Stadium. Can they put that right this weekend?

Huddersfield Town Preview – Can the Terriers claim a third away victory?

Carlos Corberan’s Huddersfield Town have had a mixed bag of results this season. The Terriers have won four, lost three and drawn one. They hover just outside of the play-off spots in seventh on 13 points.

After three straight wins over Preston, Sheffield United and Reading, Huddersfield fired their way into the top six early doors. However, they have lost two of their following three. Last time out, Corberan’s men were beaten by Nottingham Forest, who had lost six of their opening seven.

After last weekend’s disappointing reverse at the John Smith’s Stadium, Town will be hoping for better luck on the road this Saturday. Huddersfield have already won at Bramall Lane and Bloomfield Road – will they add the Swansea.com Stadium to that list this Saturday?

Swansea City vs Huddersfield Town Betting Advice

Huddersfield shocked Swansea twice last season, beating the Welsh team home and away. Goals from Harry Toffolo and Josh Koroma proved to enough for a 2-1 victory in South Wales in October 2020. In the reverse game at the John Smith’s in February, Town ran out comfortable 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Duane Homes (2), Fraizer Campbell and Lewis O’Brien.

Key Facts – Swansea City vs Huddersfield Town Betting Tip

  • Swansea have picked up just one league win so far
  • Huddersfield have won half of their eight Championship games
  • The Terriers did the double over the Swans last term, scoring six times along the way

With Swansea languishing down in 20th spot in the early Championship table, Martin & Co. could really do with all three points here. It may not be must-win territory just yet, but the pressure will start to mount on Martin if the Swans do not pick up sooner rather than later. Unfortunately for the home team, we can see Huddersfield holding them to a frustrating draw. Back the draw and both teams to score at 7/2.

Defender Matty Pearson has been excellent in front of goal for the Terriers this term, netting in games against Fulham, Reading and Blackpool. Pearson is available at 14/1 to score again this weekend.
