Steve Cooper’s high-flying Swansea City entertain Nathan Jones’ dogged Luton Town at the Liberty Stadium this Saturday in the EFL Championship. After their stunning victory over leaders Norwich City in midweek, can the Hatters cause an upset in South Wales? As you would expect, the Swans are the odds-on favourites. We take a look at the latest odds.

Swansea City Preview – Swans to take the points on home soil?

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City have been solid so far this season. Ahead of matchday 16 in the Championship, the Swans have won seven of their opening 15 games, drawing five and losing three of the other eight.

After taking seven points from a possible nine, Swansea fell to a disappointing defeat in midweek. Cooper’s men come up short at the Riverside Stadium against Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough, losing 2-1. Despite Yan Dhanda’s goal 12 minutes from time, two Duncan Watmore strikes did the business for Boro.

Our betting prediction:
Swansea to be winning at half time and full time

The Welsh side have been solid at the Liberty Stadium this season. Since a shock 2-1 reverse to Huddersfield Town in mid-October, Swansea have taken ten points from a possible 12 on their own patch.

Cooper will be looking for a response from his players after the midweek loss at the Riverside. Swansea are the clear favourites in this one and should return to winning ways at the weekend.

Luton Town Preview – Hatters to come up short in South Wales?

Nathan Jones’ Luton Town have been very competitive so far. The Hatters are nicely placed in 11th at present, winning six of their opening 15. After an embarrassing loss to Cardiff City in South Wales a week ago, Town hit back with an impressive victory in midweek.

Luton were the underdogs against leaders Norwich in front of a thousand fans at Kenilworth Road on Wednesday night. However, Jones’ boys were superb, with George Moncur, Matthew Pearson and James Collins netting in a deserved 3-1 win. That was their first victory in five.

Before last Saturday’s heavy loss in Cardiff, the Bedfordshire club had won two and drawn one of three on the road. Will they leave South Wales this weekend in better spirits?

Swansea City vs Luton Town Betting Advice

Both Championship meetings between Swansea and Luton last season ended in 1-0 wins for the away sides. At Kenilworth Road a few days before Christmas, Andre Ayew’s late goal gave the Swans a 1-0 win. The Hatters returned the favour with a 1-0 victory at the Liberty in June, with James Collins scoring the only goal of the game.

Key Facts – Swansea City vs Luton Town Betting Tip

  • Swansea have taken ten points from the last 12 on offer at home
  • Luton beat league leaders Norwich in midweek
  • The Hatters are just four points behind the Swans in the current Championship standings

Luton are sure to give Swansea a good game at the Liberty, especially after their horror show in South Wales seven days ago. However, we can see the home side picking up all three points from this one. Take a punt on the Swansea win and both teams to score, which you can get 10/3.

Veteran Andre Ayew has been in red-hot form for the Swans at the start of this season. The Ghanaian, who scored the winner at Kenilworth Road last December, has netted eight times for club and country this term. Ayew is available at 13/10 to score anytime in this one.
