Swansea City returned to EFL Championship action with an impressive win on the road last weekend. The Swans will be looking for another three points when bottom club Luton Town visit the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Swansea should pick up another victory in this one.

Swansea City Preview – Will the Swans make it back-to-back wins?

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City were very impressive last weekend, thumping Middlesbrough 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium. A Rhian Brewster brace and an Andre Ayew penalty – all in the first half – did the damage in North Yorkshire.

Swansea moved up to ninth with last Saturday’s win at the Riverside. Preston are clinging on to the final play-off spot, with North End ahead of Swansea’s rivals Cardiff City on goal difference. Cooper’s side are one of many clubs who still have play-off aspirations in the Championship.

Swansea have been solid at the Liberty Stadium this season, winning eight of 19 home league fixtures. The Welsh outfit have been beaten just once at home since November, with Derby County winning 3-2 in South Wales in February. Since then, the Swans have won one and drawn two of three at the Liberty.

As Swansea push for a place in this season’s Championship play-offs, Saturday’s encounter against lowly Luton is an important one. They could be back in the top six by the end of the weekend.

Luton Town Preview – Can the Hatters leave South Wales with a positive result?

Luton Town have found it tough going in the Championship following promotion from EFL League One as champions last term. The Hatters are rock bottom of England’s second tier, losing 22 of their 38 league games thus far.

Nathan Jones returned to Kenilworth Road during the break, and his side battled to a draw against play-off chasing Preston in his first game back in charge last weekend. Callum McManaman’s late goal rescued a point for the Hatters. That was Luton’s third draw on the spin.

Town have made themselves hard to beat, as they have lost only one of their last seven in the Championship, winning three and drawing three of the other six. However, they are bottom with just 36 points to their name, five points off safety with eight matches to go.

Luton have the worst away record in the league by far. The Hatters have lost a staggering 15 of 19 away matches, accumulating a mere ten points from a possible 57 on their travels.

Swansea City vs Luton Town Betting Advice

Swansea were very impressive last weekend, and Cooper will want his side to build on that win with another three points this Saturday. Even though Luton are fighting for their lives, the Swans should have enough quality to get the victory.

Key Facts – Swansea City vs Luton Town Betting Tip

  • Only Derby have won at the Liberty Stadium in 2020
  • Luton have the worst away record in the league, picking up just ten points on the road
  • The Swans have won each of their last four meetings with Luton, scoring seven and shipping one

Andre Ayew’s late goal was enough to give Swansea a 1-0 win when the pair locked horns at Kenilworth Road back in December. I fancy the Swans to win to nil again at 2/1. Also, put some money on Ayew to score anytime at 11/8.
